Acupressure has been practiced in Asia for over five thousand years. Acupressure is similar to acupuncture and uses the same focal points of the body which are healed by hand without needles.

Benefits

The Benefits of AcupressureAcupressure is primarily used to enhance the body's immune system to prevent the development of disease and illness. Acupressure methods are particularly useful for relieving muscular tension and aches from our bodies. Acupressure is also renowned for improving the circulation of blood in our bodies. As well as using pressure to alleviate problems other methods are employed such as healing imagery harnessing the power of positive thought.

Acupressure is used to relieve external pain as well as balancing the elements of our bodies and maintaining all round general health. In a similar principal to yoga one of the main objectives of acupressure is to channel stress away from the body so that the energy can be used for more positive purposes.

Energies

Energies from AcupressureEnergies are the main controlling factor involved in acupressure therapies. Energy is manipulated and controlled by interacting with the pressure points of the body using different techniques such as pressing holding and massaging the skin around these areas. Using different techniques the energies can be altered to the relevant degree. While the methods may sound similar to massage, the treatments of acupressure are delivered in a much lighter approach.

The concept of energy is used broadly in other traditional Chinese healing methods and martial arts. Mastering how to locate energy points and distribute the energy is the main goal of acupressure.

Jin Shin Jyutsu

Jin shin jyutsu is a similar form of healing to acupressure that also focuses on balancing the energies of the body. Jin shin jyutsu uses 26 safety energy locks that have similar purposes to the points used in acupuncture and acupressure. Jin shin jyutsu works well as a form of preventative maintenance and also as a cure to some conditions.

Jin Shin JyutsuThe treatment is performed by using gentle movements on the energy locks without using manipulation or massage techniques. The techniques used are so light that they can be done through the clients clothes and will cause no discomfort.

Some people have received better results from jin shin jyutsu treatments than acupressure. The two can also be used together to aid some problems in combination.
